James May Toy Stories - Scalextric World Record Attempt on TV
The 'James May's Toy Stories' will be featuring the Scalextric World Record
attempt for the largest ever scalextric track at the Pendle Slot Racing
Festival at Brooklands in August 2009. Scalextric with the help of thousands
of volunteers accompanied James May at the Brooklands race track, in Surrey,
England. Tune in to BBC2, Tuesday 17th November 8pm (UK)
Almost 10 years ago to the day. Pendle Slot Racing were again involved in another successfull World Record attempt when members from Pendle Slot Racing Club were involved with building a track in a newly refurbished office block in Leeds City centre. The track was a series of long straights with 180degree turns and the cars used were Scalextric Mercedes CLK GTR. The chequered sign commemorating the successfull attempt is now on display in the Pendle Slot Racing Club room.
