Classes | 70s F1 Rules

SCRUTINEERING
• Random scrutineering will take place at any time during a meeting. This will be carried out at the beginning of any heat or heats. All the cars in the chosen heat will be checked, if a car is found to be illegal at any point during the meeting that competitor’s points will be scrubbed for that meeting.
• Top Six cars may have their cars opened up and put on the track for every one to scrutinise at the end of the meeting/final.
• Having a magnet effect track there will be checks for magnetraction in the cars at scrutineering or if any car is suspected of having a magnet fitted.
• Weight may be added inside the car only and must be securely fixed with glue or BlueTac (Lead / lead/alloy substitutes only)
• Cars will be checked to ensure all parts used are eligible and all rules are adhered to.
• Motors must remain sealed/un-opened; any evidence of cans being opened will be viewed as tampering with the motor and is illegal.
• Chief Scrutineer’s decision is final.

RACE FORMAT
• Each driver will race once on each lane. Drivers will race in seeded order (seeding will be worked out from the championship table prior to the event). New drivers will be seeded at the bottom of the point’s table.
• The heats will be raced over 2mins/15 laps. At the end of the heats total time is taken to give a qualifying position for the top 12 drivers to move into the Semi finals. The top 3 drivers from each Semi will then race in the final.
• This is a non-magnet championship. Traction magnets are NOT allowed.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
• Best 5 of 6 rounds will count.
• In the event of a tie the result will be decided by count-back. ie the drivers with the greater number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. In the unlikely event that there is still a tie all 5 rounds will count.
